Water Projects

Remedial Education

CRH – Community Water Access Initiative
Project Locations: Villages of Danad and Latifwadi, Tehsil Shahapur, District Thane – 421602
Located off the Mumbai–Agra Highway near Kasara

🌍 Geographic Context:
These villages are nestled in remote, mountainous, and forested terrain, approximately 100 meters above sea level. Access to safe and reliable water has long been a challenge. The primary water source—located about 2 km away—completely dries up after the monsoon season.

During peak summer months, young girls from the villages are compelled to trek through dense forest and rocky terrain, descending to distant water bodies to collect water. Once their pots are filled, they undertake the arduous 2 km uphill climb, often barefoot, under scorching heat, while balancing heavy pots on their heads. This daily struggle exposes them to health risks, physical strain, and safety concerns.

🎯 Project Objective:
To improve the quality of life and ensure the well-being of girls in underdeveloped and marginalized communities by providing sustainable access to water. This initiative aims to:

  • Reduce the burden on young girls

  • Promote gender equity

  • Enhance health and hygiene conditions in the villages

CRH has successfully completed two water projects in Danad and Latifwadi, enabling reliable water access and bringing dignity, safety, and relief to the daily lives of these communities.

Remedial Education

Remedial Education Program Overview

In alignment with the standards outlined by the National Education Policy, we are implementing a Remedial Education Program aimed at strengthening foundational skills in students. The program focuses on improving reading and writing skills in Marathi, building a strong base in basic mathematics, and providing an introductory exposure to English.

A pre-test will be conducted to assess each student's current academic level. Based on the results, specific learning gaps will be identified, and targeted instructional support will be provided to bridge these gaps.

The program will be conducted for students of Standards 3, 4, and 5 as follows:

  • Standards 3 and 4: 1-hour remedial classes per day

  • Standard 5: 2 hours of instructional support per day

The curriculum is designed according to the foundation course standards set by the education department. Student progress will be evaluated through two assessments conducted annually.

Additionally, students currently in Standards 6 and 7 will receive appropriate academic support based on their intellectual and learning levels.
